Irony and sarcasm are two complex linguistic phenomena that are widely used in everyday language and especially over the social media, but they represent two serious issues for automated text understanding. Many labeled corpora have been extracted from several sources to accomplish this task, and it seems that sarcasm is conveyed in different ways for different domains. Comoros: Language Situation

The Union of Comoros comprises three of the four islands of the Comorian archipelago, which is situated halfway between the East African coast and the northern tip of Madagascar. Official languages are French, Arabic, and Comorian, the latter of which is the everyday language of the people. Comorian is a Bantu language closely related to Swahili that can be subdivided into different dialects: Ngazija/Shingazija on Grande Comore, Ndzwani/Shindzwani on Anjouan, and Shimwali on Moheli.

Šobrīd Latvijā pieaug pētnieku interese par runāto valodu un valodas lietojumu daudzveidīgās saziņas situācijās. Runa ir cieši saistīta ar situāciju, kurā runas akta dalībnieki veido izteikumus. Runātā valoda ir cieši saistīta ne tikai ar lingvistisko, bet arī sociālo kontekstu. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt ģimenes struktūras ietekmi uz valodas lietojumu ikdienā : sociolingvistiskā aspektā. Faktoloģiskā materiāla avoti ir diktofonā fiksēti spontānas sarunvalodas ieraksti, kas veikti, runātājiem nezinot, lai saglabātu komunikācijas dabiskumu un autentiskumu. Komunikācijas dalībnieki, kuru veidotie ikdienas mutvārdu izteikumi ir izmantoti par pētījuma avotu, ir pieci darba autores ģimenes locekļi.…

Al rescate de la economía o cómo hablar con metáforas de asuntos serios

Resumen: A raiz de la formulacion de la teoria cognitiva de la metafora por parte de Lakoff y Johnson (1980) se descubre que esta figura puede promover el desarrollo de la competencia comunicativa en el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas. Sin embargo, en el ambito de ELE apenas hay materiales disponibles para explotarla. Para paliar este deficit presentamos aqui una secuencia didactica pensada para Espanol de los negocios de nivel C1. En el discurso de las ciencias sociales proliferan las metaforas creadas a partir de terminos de la lengua comun que han adquirido un significado especifico en estas disciplinas. This interesting volume was published by the Laterza in 2011 and is the product of fruitful collaboration between three internationally renowned scholars, each with different research perspectives. They are respectively Carla Bazzanella, who teaches General and Cognitive Linguistics at the University of Turin; Rosa Pugliese, who teaches Italian as a foreign language at the University of Bologna; Erdling Strudsholm, who teaches Italian linguistics at the University of Copenhagen.
